Intel Marches Ahead on Manufacturing Efforts

Intel is moving up its manufacturing timelines for its new 18A process. We also briefly discuss advances in hopping robots and neutral atom quantum computing.
Intel Moves up 18A to 2024
Intel reported a challenging quarter as it barely met its revenue projections (source). Nonetheless Intel is charging ahead on its investments in the future of chip manufacturing and has even announced that it is moving up the projected launch date of its Intel 18A chips.

Today’s superconducting qubit quantum computers have faced major scaling difficulties in reaching large numbers of qubits. Neutral atoms may provide a better pathway towards scalable quantum computing.
